The river Trebbia passes just 4km from Casarossa and offers many pleasant areas for swimming, walking, or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings.

From the village of Rivergaro the Trebbia goes up towards the village of Bobbio, crossing the road ‘Statale 45’ after approximately 15km, and passes the town of Travo to reach Perino. Among all the photographic scenery one finds many beautiful little riverside areas that accompany the river until it reaches Bobbio and beyond through Corte Brugnatella, Marsaglia and Ottone, finishing at the Aveto Valley (Italian: Val d'Aveto). The scenery, when walking along the river, grows in beauty and the river itself becomes clearer and more translucent.

At Marsaglia the riverfront becomes beach-like and there are easily accessible areas for cars and pedestrians. It is possible at Marsaglia and other areas for relaxing on the riverfront or swimming in the refreshing waters during the warm summer months (the end of June to the start of September generally). Or, for the more daring, any other month!

The river Trebbia is considered one of the most clean in Italy. This is in keeping with the protected and uncontaminated Trebbia Valley between the Piacentine Hills.
